UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/173979
DESCRIPTION:Ecological momentary assessment and traumatic stress
 by Dr Talya Greene\n
This will talk will give a brief introduction to ecological momentary assessment (EMA). The talk will then discuss the application of EMA during and after an armed conflict to assess stress exposure, psychological states, symptoms, and emotions in real time using smartphones, in individuals with and without serious mental illness. Key findings will be presented, showing how this approach can clarify the dynamic associations between exposure and symptoms, identify vulnerable individuals and communities, map out recovery trends for different groups, and investigate potential mediators, such as sense of threat.\n
Dr Talya Greene is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Community Mental Health at the University of Haifa in Israel, and studies trauma and its mental health consequences, especially using epidemiological methods and network approaches. Dr Greene is currently undertaking a sabbatical year at University College London.\n \n
