SUMMARY:Can we embed research into clinical practice?
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/201222
DESCRIPTION:Can we embed research into clinical practice? Cambridge Clozapine Clinic and the study of negative symptoms in schizophrenia
A decade ago, we implemented a new model of care for people with treatment-resistant schizophrenia on clozapine. It aimed to provide excellent and cost-effective care and act as a research hub to inform clinical practice, all within a busy NHS community mental health team. The holy grail. In this talk, I’ll present the model with its achievements, benefits and risks, to then focus on one of the research lines we have developed about the characterization of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia.\n
