The department offers specific pathways allowing students to specialise during MA study. The Literature and Culture MA programme has a Long Nineteenth Century pathway with a variety of core and optional modules designed to allow students to gain a greater theoretical, contextual, and critical understanding of a wide range of topics in the nineteenth century. Students also benefit from the Centre’s activities, including but not limited to access to the Long Nineteenth Century Research Seminars.
Students in the department have the option of completing an MA by research, or a PhD. As above, students interested in the nineteenth century will benefit from the wide range of links to other resources, and the range of research interests in the English Literature department.
