Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

All of the modules taught within the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education programmes are available to study on a one-off basis as CPD. Not only does each module provide valuable, up-to-date learning, you can select the theme most relevant to you and your work. If you choose to return to study towards a formal qualification within our suite of Railway Safety and Control Systems programmes, your CPD module will count towards this qualification.*

CPD at Birmingham represents a cost-effective way to increase your knowledge and skills.

*CPD modules can be offset as Accredited Prior Learning (APL) against formal study providing you have completed and passed the assessment. Such APL is valid for a given number of years (please contact us via Joy Grey on to enquire).

There are no courses at present, we will post future courses when they become available

All courses include teaching, course materials, a course dinner and access to the University of Birmingham’s Virtual Learning Environment and library services (where relevant/applicable for the course).

Accommodation in Birmingham is not included, but please contact Joy Grey on (+44) (0)121 414 4342. for details of discounted rates at nearby hotels, including the University of Birmingham’s newly-opened on-campus hotel.
