Achieving and leading Equality & Diversity in challenging times

Dates
Thursday 9 July 2020 (11:45-12:45)

What does successful and responsible leadership of Equality and Diversity look like today?

Join us for this reflective and thought provoking webinar hosted by theLloyds Banking Group Centre for Responsible Business in collaboration with WE LEAD at the University of York.

Bringing together a panel of speakers, each with many years of experience working as professionals in their fields, who will share their personal experiences, leading research and reflections on this issue, discussing steps that leaders and organisations of all types can start to consider to begin a journey to achieving authentic, inclusive workplaces.

Considered, candid discussions will take place around the current situation, challenges faced, what the research informs us of and why we need to reflect, begin to understand the role we play as leaders in our environments and how we begin to invest in an honest narrative and commit to change to achieve success as a responsible business.

Our speakers will reflect and discuss:

1. Addressing discrimination in organisations– what can we learn from the Black Lives Matter movement?

2. Making the business case for diverse and inclusive leadership teams – where do we begin with prioritising this against increasing demands for businesses?

3. Achieving Responsible Businesses – establishing sustainable, inclusive, responsible business cultures in business Post Covid-19

This webinar is aimed at representatives from all sectors wishing to address these issues within their own organisations. The webinar aims to inspire and encourage attendees on how they can start the conversations to review their business practices. Enabling practices to evolve in light of the current situation and issues raised as part of the Black Lives Matter movement, and how they can respond to deliver not only best practice for current employees, but their future talent and wider community achieving success and authentically evidencing their values as responsible businesses.

The webinar will be hosted via Zoom, with an opportunity to post any questions you would like to pose to our panel pre-event via email.
