WIRC Seminar: LGBTQ+ Parenting

The Work Inclusivity Research Centre (WIRC) at Birmingham Business School held a Zoom seminar, on the 10 November 2021, exploring the experiences of LGBTQ+ parents both nationally and internationally.

In the seminar we heard from WIRC member and PhD student Lowri Evans as she spoke about her recent ESRC IAA funded secondment with Aviva, where she undertook a research project exploring the experiences of their LGBTQ+ parents and parental policy at Aviva.

Daniel Clark-Bland, Interim Head of Project, Programme and Portfolio Office Management (PMO) at Aviva and co-chair of Aviva Pride, discussed Aviva’s experience with the project and future action.

Finally, Professor Henny Bos from the University of Amsterdam also joined us to talk about an international research project which she is leading, examining the experiences of Lesbian and Gay parents with surrogacy and sperm donation which the University of Birmingham is involved in.
