Dr Jeremy Pritchard, a senior lecturer in the School of Biosciences at the University of Birmingham, gives a TEDx talk entitled Humans: perfectly created or randomly complex?

As a card-carrying Darwinist, Jeremy is involved in teaching evolution at all levels from primary school to the U3A. Dr Pritchard says "My favourite thing is phloem and I badger the public about it (and Darwin) at every opportunity."

TEDx University of Birmingham showcased nine high-impact talks from various speakers based around the theme of Throwing Caution to the Wind -- or in other words, risk taking. It was the first TEDx event the University has ever held and after a highly successful event we hope there will be many more.
