ICAEW Bursary 2021

The Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales (ICAEW) pledges a gift to the University of £12,000 which will be paid in three instalments of £4,000 per year for three years commencing in the academic year 2021 – 2023 inclusive.

ICAEW logoIt is our intention that the gift be used to establish a needs-based bursary to support one undergraduate student for three years studying a degree based programme with an accounting and finance bias.  The award will commence in the academic year 2021.

Award Criteria

The University’s Scholarships Award Panel or equivalent, in accordance with procedures used by the University’s Finance Support Office or equivalent, will be responsible for selecting the best and most deserving student candidate taking into account the following factors:

  • Previous education
  • Previous / current work experience
  • Any previous / current scholarships or bursaries
  • Personal financial circumstances: all income, financial support, debts etc
  • Family circumstances and finances
  • Any exceptional personal circumstances
  • Academic interests and motivation
  • Career objectives

Am I eligible?

The application process is open to full-time accounting and finance undergraduate students with Home or International fee status studying BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance with the University of Birmingham.

You must have achieved high grades in A levels or equivalent, provide a strong scholarship statement and meet the family income criteria.
