Inya is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Birmingham Business School. He joined the University of Birmingham in October 2017 from the University of Wolverhampton.

Biography

Inya Egbe is an Associate Professor in Accounting. Prior to joining University of Birmingham as a lecturer, he worked as a lecturer in the department of Finance, Accounting, Systems and Economics at the University of Wolverhampton where he taught Corporate Financial Management, Corporate and Behavioural Finance, Management Accounting, Analytical Skills for Business and Professional Skills for Accountants. Inya was also an associate at University of Birmingham from 2013-2015 where he taught Advanced Management Accounting –KPMG, Business Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis for Investors.

Postgraduate supervision

Inya is interested in supervising postgraduate thesis in management accounting, especially in the following area but not limited to:

  • The design and use of management control systems
  • The management control systems aspects of sustainability accounting
  • Performance measurement and evaluation systems.
  • Accounting and development issues.

Research

Inya’s primary research interest focuses on the design and use of management control systems in emerging multinationals. He also has keen interest in the management control aspects of sustainability accounting and accounting and development issues.
