Speaker profile
Liang Bai's areas of research are in the fields of development economics and economic history, with a regional focus on China and India. Recent work has examined economic legacies of the Cultural Revolution in China, the effects of improved credit access on land allocation in rural India, as well as the effectiveness of commitment contracts for increasing preventive healthcare utilization. Liang has studied economics at the Universities of Cambridge and Pompeu Fabra, as well as the LSE, before receiving his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley.
