A Tale of Two Cities is a British Academy Newton Fund supported project between University of Birmingham and Akdeniz University in Turkey.

The project examines ways in which to connect people to hidden heritage and culture through VR and AR. As part of this project, colleagues from Akdeniz University have made a short experimental art film - Belkis (2019) by Zehra Yiğit - and produced a group photography exhibition to illustrate the value of the (moving) image in connecting people to these hidden stories. What we can see is the potential to place yourself within this story.

Our exhibition will showcase the images from a field trip to the Ancient City of Aspendos as well as the short experimental film.  The exhibition is informal and will provide an opportunity to view the images, and talk about the project.
