 Distinguished Leaders Series

On 28 January Xavier Broseta, Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Labour Relations at Air France, delivered a guest lecture as part of Birmingham Business School's Distinguished Leaders Series.

Xavier shared his extensive experience in the field of human resources, and gave the attendees a flavour of what it takes to be responsible for a vast international organisation that encompasses 65,000 employees. Selected attendees were also able to join a small roundtable discussion and ask Xavier questions before the lecture.

Xavier Broseta talks about his experiences in his current role and gives advice to students at the University.


After graduating from the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Ecole Nationale d’Administration, Xavier began his career by taking charge of the National Employment Fund at the Ministry of Employment in 1995. In 2000, Xavier left this post to take responsibly for the negotiations for the French National Health Service. In 2002, he joined the team at Thalès, attaining the role of Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Business Group Components and then the Air Systems Division. In 2008, he was appointed Senior Vice President for International Human Resources in charge of South Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and The Middle East at Thalès. Xavier can count running 7 marathons among his accomplishments. He teaches at Sciences Po Paris and is responsible for human resources education at Paris-Sorbonne University.
