Birmingham MBA ranked in world's top 25 programmes for entrepreneurship

Birmingham Business School are delighted to announce that our MBA programme has been ranked within the Financial Times' top 25 programmes worldwide for entrepreneurship, with a placement of 21st.

This table looks at a number of factors including percentage of MBA students who have started a business, whether those companies are still operating, how the equity to start the business was raised, the extent to which the skills gained during the students’ MBA encouraged them to start the company, and the extent to which their School helped with their financing. The analysis is based on the class of 2012, and Birmingham Business School was ranked as one of only three UK institutions in the top 25, in a table primarily dominated by US institutions.

This is another fantastic achievement for the School and for our MBA programme, and demonstrates our commitment to developing high-quality graduates focused on the business challenges of tomorrow. The MBA market is fiercely competitive with the continued increase in competitor institutions in the UK and across Europe, Asia and Australia.

Professor Simon Collinson, Dean of Birmingham Business School commented:

"Our excellent position in this new spin-off of the FT Global Rankings is fantastic news for our MBA programme, and is testament to the quality of the education provided by our faculty.  We have a continuing focus on ensuring Birmingham Business School students and alumni have an enriched and fulfilling experience and are well equipped for the world of business when they leave us.  Our current programme of investment across the School aims to further strengthen our position within key rankings in the future, and this adds to an incredibly successful year for our MBA provision across all of the key rankings."

These ranking results, and our attainment of the prestigious triple-crown accreditation award, demonstrate our continued commitment to provide a truly global experiential MBA. This news follows the recent announcement that our online MBA is the first in the world to receive formal accreditation from AMBA, one of the leading authorities on postgraduate business education.
