University of Birmingham Community Day this Sunday


On Sunday 9 June 2013, the University of Birmingham is holding a Community Day at our Edgbaston campus, giving you the chance to explore our beautiful, historic campus and enjoy events and activities throughout the day.

We are throwing the doors open for you to see for yourselves the great things that the University is doing for people here in the Midlands and around the world.

A selection of events taking place throughout the day include:

  • Great book give away – books will be given away throughout the day
  • Muirhead Tower Tours -Enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the campus and further afield from the top of Muirhead Tower, home to the College of Social Sciences.
  • Fun Fair – a climbing wall, helter skelter and lots more
  • What are our postgraduate researchers working on? –A selection of posters outlining some of the research taking place at the University
  • Farmers’ and craft markets – enjoy local, fresh produce, arts and crafts
  • Hydrogen Barge - visit the canal next to the train station to see this wonderful piece of engineering
  • Designosaurus – design your own dinosaur
