China careers fair

Organised by the Universities of Birmingham, Warwick and Nottingham, the UK University Graduate Careers Fair, took place 2nd April 2019 in Shanghai, China.

Taking place in the heart of the City, the ‘UK University Careers Fair’ draws together international students who study at UK universities to meet high profile employers looking to hire graduates in China and across the Asia Pacific.

Now in its second year, the event welcomed over 800 graduates and attracted 67 high-profile employers from a diverse range of sectors, all looking to hire graduates in a wide variety of functions in China and across the Asia Pacific. Those represented included Apple, Bosch, Geely, GSK, IBM, Mondelez, Paypal, EY, Morgan Stanley, UBS and many other top companies.

Students had the opportunity to visit the employer stands, learn more about the roles available and have a fast-track graduate interview on the day. In preparation for the fair, University of Birmingham students had access to online resources, webinars and a careers fair app to ensure that they were prepared to meet the world’s top employers and make the most of this invaluable opportunity.

“It was fantastic to welcome so many students, alumni and employers to our Shanghai Fair. This event has quickly become a key annual event in our Careers offering to our Chinese students”. The University of Birmingham has established some fantastic employer relationships in China and we are very keen to see this continue to develop and grow over time.”

A number of comments from Employers attending included:

Alphasights: “We just love the event organised by Joint UK Universities”

BT: “We liked the venue, environment, student quality, students assistance”
