CREME Director Monder Ram shortlisted for the 2017 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards
It has just been announced that West Midlands based Professor Monder Ram, Director of the Centre for Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship (CREME) at the University of Birmingham, has been shortlisted for the 2017 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Entrepreneurs’ Champion of the Year award.
Professor Ram beat off some tough competition in order to make the regional shortlist, with over 1000 businesses entering the awards nationally across the wide range of categories.
Now in its fifth year, the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards has celebrated some amazing entrepreneurs over the years, many of whom are now household names. Past winners include David Buttress of Just Eat, Julie Deane of The Cambridge Satchel Company, James Watt of BrewDog and Alexander Solomou of TheLADBible Group.
“Professor Monder Ram has extensive experience working in, researching and acting as a consultant to ethnic minority businesses. A leading authority on ethnic minority entrepreneurship, and a widely-published author on the subject, Monder’s work has been supported by a range of research funding bodies. He initiated the annual Ethnic Minority Business Conference in 1998, which has developed into the most important event in the calendar for disseminating policy and research on ethnic minority firms.”
