Dr. Mariachiara Barzotto, who joined in September 2015 as the first Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Birmingham Business School, will be presenting the research project “SkillUp” on the 19th of November 2015 at the GVC Lunch Time Seminar in Room 205.

Thanks to her two-year European grant entlited “SkillUp: Skill development and firm upgrading to sustain the competitiveness of the EU manufacturing sector” (H2020-MSCA-IF-2014 Proposal No 660022), she – and her scientific advisor Professor Lisa De Propris - will explore routes that combine firms’ upgrading strategies along with workforce skill development in order to enhance the competitiveness of EU manufacturing industries. SkillUp is a research project that brings together Mariachiara’s expertise on international competitiveness and regional labour market(s) with the competence and excellence in training and research of the Birmingham Business School. Mariachiara will be part of the dynamic research environment of the Global Value Chain Research Cluster.
