The assessment draws together an array of data and information to understand the key issues for the Wolverhampton economy and to inform a response to the key issues which exist.
This review provides an analysis of the current state of Wolverhampton’s economy and labour market and how this may change and develop in the future.
It offers an opportunity to build on the importance of Wolverhampton’s city centre as the main focus of regeneration activity in the Black Country. This assessment has been structured according to the main themes emerging from the forthcoming refresh of the City Strategy 2011-2026; An Enterprising City; A Working and Inclusive City; A Vibrant City and A Future City.
The document will be an important tool in informing strategy for both the local authority and partners. The document comes at an important time both economically and politically, with public sector budget cuts and the localism agenda impacting on the way partners will respond to economic development issues going forward. As well as challenges this will create opportunities for partners to position themselves to benefit from changes as they occur.
