His research is primarily focused on the interaction between stock market movements and corporate actions. He examines the extent to which companies "learn" from the variations in their own stock returns in developing and adjusting key corporate actions such as Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Equity Offerings. He also studies the role of informed trading - within the framework of the Grossman-Stiglitz paradox and the original work of F.A. Hayek - in influencing stock returns at both the firm and market levels. Qualifications 2015 PhD in Economics (Finance Thesis), University of St Andrews, United Kingdom 2011 MSc in Finance, University of St Andrews, United Kingdom Biography Samer joined Birmingham Business School in April 2017 after completing a Ph.D. in Economics (Finance Thesis) at the University of St Andrews.
