Vic Benuyenah is Assistant Professor at the Birmingham Business School. He has a background in organisational psychology and the application of economic theory to HRM/management decisions. Vic is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, MCIPD and a Fellow of the Royal Economic Society of England. He has extensive experience in teaching business courses and the management of higher education teams. In addition to reviewing for several academic journals, Vic is also an Associate Editor for the Emerald Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching & Learning

Biography

Vic studied PhD in organisational psychology at the University of London (UK) following a postgraduate studies in Business Administration at Staffordshire University. Earlier, he earned a degree in Economics making him versatile in his teaching and research. He later studied for a Certificate in Public Policy Economics at the University of Oxford. Before joining the academia, Vic worked for the Royal Mail, Vatrixx Ltd and RWE Npower in the Midlands - UK.

He then worked in London and Bedfordshire as a senior lecturer and Assistant Head of Department at LUCT-London, and the University of Bedfordshire respectively, then later, as the founding Senior Lecturer in Vietnam, overseeing the University of London and Staffordshire University Business Programmes. He served as the Head of Quality, Teaching & Learning, and a Programme Director for the University of London and Staffordshire University Programmes until 2016. Before joining the University of Birmingham, Vic had also taught and led on research development at a Federal Higher Education Institution in the UAE, where he operated as the Course Leader for the CIPD accredited HRM programme. 

From 2009 until present, Dr Benuyenah has been working as economics and business Examiner for Oxford, Cambridge and RSA (OCR) exams. Vic is a full visiting Professor at Alliance Business School -Alliance University and the ALU Business School, Mauritius/Kigali.

Research

Vic is passionate about the eclectic discourse that combines economic theory and psychology with HRM. He adopts an interpretative phenomenological approach in framing employee attitude(s) whilst being able to investigate organisational events using positivist (SEM) frameworks.

His recent publications include the use of conflict barometer in conflict management, OCB & managerial decision making and critical discourse in recruitment and selection praxis
