...the Business School really helps students to maintain a positive thought towards managing workload."

Nooresabah Hussain studied an Accounting and Finance BSc at Birmingham Business School. He would recommend Birmingham because of the broad scope of knowledge gained in a small amount of time and the excellent travel links offered on campus and in the city.

Why Birmingham Business School?

I always wanted to study a Business/Maths based degree and when I visited the University of Birmingham, I instantly felt at home. Not only did my course prove to be flexible, but it covered a wide range of topics which will help to shape my career after graduation.

I would recommend Birmingham Business School to anyone intending to study a related degree because the broad scope of knowledge which is gained in a small amount of time is rather impressive compared to other Institutions offering the same discipline.

As a student, your needs are catered for and you have full support from the lecturers and UG Office. The immaculate and beautifully designed Business School is also something to be proud of.

The Birmingham experience

Knowing that you study at a well reputable University is, in itself, a huge achievement; you're at Birmingham because you stand out.

The campus is like a tourist attraction and as it stretches over 250 acres of stunning greenery, this gives students the perfect balance between study and relaxation. Travel to the University is also very convenient with regular buses going to and from the City Centre. UoB is also the only UK University to have its own railway station on campus and is frequently used by students who find train travel more convenient.

My message to prospective students is that no matter how much you feel that the exam period is never going to end, always enjoy whatever opportunities come your way. 3 years will fly by so quickly, you won't even realise it!

Tips and advice

You'll hear the usual 'make sure you attend lectures, make sufficient notes, revise properly for your exams...' and it's true. The more you put in, the more you'll get out.

An additional tip to remember is to treat each exam separately; if it doesn't go well, take it as a challenge and do better in the next exam. The UG Office in the Business School really helps students to maintain a positive thought towards managing workload. It's also wise to remember that it's your degree; the classification you want should be your drive to success.

Scholarships and support

I received the A2B Scholarship which helped to meet my financial needs. There are a variety of Scholarships available, including the National Scholarship Programme (NSP) and the Chamberlain Award.
