Nisha Kandola wins 2018 Salters' Prize

Nisha Kandola, a recent Masters in Chemical Engineering graduate, has received a prestigious 2018 Salters' Graduate Award.

The Salters’ Graduate Awards celebrate the achievements of undergraduate students in chemistry and chemical engineering. Each year the Salters’ Institute offers up to ten graduate awards, each of £1,000, to final-year UK undergraduates who are set to achieve a first class honours degree.

Nisha was selected as one of four chemical engineers to receive the prize in 2018. The highly competitive prizes are given following an assessment of the potential of candidates ultimately to occupy leading positions in public life, either by employment in the Chemical or related industries, or more generally in employment that supports the industrial life of the UK.

Nisha was Academic President of the University of Birmingham’s Chemical Engineering Society (BUCES) in the final year of her studies and now works as a Contact Engineer at ExxonMobil in Southampton.
