The School of Chemical Engineering is delighted to have made it to the final of the University's Philanthropic Research Project.
Finalist Dr Sophie Cox, Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering and the Healthcare Technologies Institute, is leading a team who are engineering novel medical systems to fight antimicrobial resistance using honey. The team are working on creative ways to deliver a product including a spray, a cream, and also a powder which becomes a gel when applied to a wound, creating a protective barrier.
