How can microbiological sampling results be used? What is the value of environmental sampling? Can sampling plans enhance food safety? Do rapid detection methods improve enforcement?
Our 2 day CPD course in applied food microbiology will provide answers to questions like these.The course will cover the following key areas:
Day 1
- Microbial Sampling plans in food businesses
- Interpretation of examination/sampling results
- Sampling case studies
- Microbial standards and criteria
Day 2
- Application of rapid methods in food microbiology
- Use of ATP in food safety (including an evaluation of 2012 Olympic project)
- Cleaning and biofilms
- Viruses in food
- Phage Typing and Serology
Speakers from Public Health England/ Food Standards Agency /Food Industry/ Academia.
Course fee: 1 day £200, both days £350 per delegate (to include lunch and refreshments).
Venue: School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT; Room G35, Building Y11
Time: Day 1 10:00 - 19:30; Day 2 10:00 – 16:30 pm on day 2. An evening laboratory session is scheduled for the evening of day 1.
