COVID-19: Due to the ongoing situation we are currently running virtual Undergraduate Open Days and Applicant Visit Days. These have been adapted to ensure you get the most out of them, with chances to chat to current staff and students, live talks and Q&A sessions.

2021 Open days

Our Undergraduate Open Days give you the perfect opportunity to hear first-hand from our current students and teaching staff about living and learning in Birmingham. Subject to Government guidance we are planning for our summer Open Days to take place on Friday 2 July and Saturday 3 July 2021.

Applicant Visit Days

If, after having received your UCAS application, we are keen to make you an offer, we shall invite you to attend one of our Applicant Visit Days. This will not only provide us with an opportunity discuss your application with you, but will also provide you with a valuable opportunity to experience the School, our beautiful campus and the halls of residence. Importantly, the Applicant Visit Day will also provide you with an opportunity to chat to current students and experience our teaching methods at first-hand, including a lecture, lab work and a problem-based learning activity.

  • September 2020 - UCAS applications open
  • 15 January 2021 - Deadline for applications - first places*
  • May 2021 - UCAS decision deadline
  • 30 June 2021 - UCAS applications close**
  • 1 July 2021 - UCAS clearing opens for international students
  • 31 July 2021 - Accommodation application deadline (for Accommodation Guarantee scheme)
  • 18-19 September 2021 - Arrivals Weekend
  • 20-26 September 2021 - Semester One begins with Welcome Week
  • 27 September 2021 - Semester One teaching begins

*All applications received by 15th January are given equal consideration. If you apply after this date then we cannot guarantee that we will be able to consider your application depending on the number and quality of applications we received before this UCAS deadline.
** If you apply after 30 June 2021, your application is automatically entered into Clearing.
