Drawing of a caravan

Caravania!, devised by Adam Ledger with The Bone Ensemble, will soon begin its national tour. The project is part of Adam’s practice as research.

The blue and white caravan, now a portable micronation, was recently seen on its first stop at mac birmingham on 25 and 26 May 2013. A declaration of independence has now been delivered to 10 Downing Street (really!) and the caravan will be travelling around festivals and theatres over the summer. Dates include the Hotbed Festival (Colchester Mercury Theatre) on 20 July, Cardiff Millennium Centre – where the show will also be performed in Welsh – on 27 and 28 July, and several dates in Lancashire.

Caravania! is supported by further funding from Arts Council England and is in partnership with mac birmingham, the Birmingham Hippodrome and the University of Birmingham.

The Bone Ensemble will be developing Igloo – a show in an igloo - from September. Igloo is a beautiful sculptural installation, made from recyclable materials. It is an off-grid experience with interactive performance events. Igloo brings together ideas of sustainability, cultural identity, community and displacement in a witty intervention in the landscape. Like the Northern Lights, it will also glow in the dark…
