- An informal evening of readings and discussion of the work of Sir Terry Pratchett
At his death in March this year, Terry Pratchett was one of the most successful British writers, known in particular for his forty Discworld novels, the Johnny Maxwell trilogy, and his collaborations with Neil Gaiman and Stephen Baxter.
His work - often irreverent, generally satirical, always enjoyable - seems to both invite and push against concerted academic criticism. How, then, to begin to think about these books in an academic way? This seminar will offer some starting points as well as a chance for general discussion, an exchange of favourite moments, and a few readings from the works themselves.
This event is free. All are welcome, but please register on doodle. Bring 2cc of mouse blood if possible.
Venue: Arts Building, Room 119
