BAME (and other) voices in literary journalism
- Location
- Watson Building - Lecture Theatre B
- Dates
- Wednesday 24 January 2018 (15:30-16:30)
The first in a series of Equality & Diversity events, Professor Sandeep Parmar (University of Liverpool) will talk about the Ledbury ‘Emerging Critics’ program, which aims at getting more BAME voices into literary journalism.
She’ll be joined by Birmingham's Vidyan Ravinthiran and two of their mentees, Mary Jean Chan, and Srishti Krishnamoorthy-Cavell, who will talk about their experiences, and analyse examples of good writing, and bad.
The speakers will be happy to discuss at the event how to pitch reviews to editors.
