Culture, metaphor and advertising

As part of the British Science Festival, Professor Jeannette Littlemore, Dr Paula Perez Sobrino and Dr David Houghton are running an interactive workshop on ‘Culture, Metaphor and Advertising’ in the Heritage Learning Space Library of Birmingham on Saturday 12 March (14:30-16:30).

Among other things, they will discuss preliminary findings from their EU-funded Marie Curie project on this theme. They be looking at how and why adverts work, the extent to which creativity in advertising can translate across cultures, and how language can shape thought.
