On Thursday 7 September 2017, as part of our Marie Curie project ‘Exploring Multimodal Metaphor in Advertising’ we’re planning on holding a training workshop which will bring together staff, PG students and employers. The workshop will be held at the Alan Walters Building (University of Birmingham)

The workshop, which will be entitled ‘Everyday creativity in communication’, will contain a number of activities, looking at how the creative use of language and other forms of expression affect people’s behaviour and understanding in response to advertisements and other forms of communication.

We’d like to invite academics, postgraduate students, and professionals working in the advertising industry and the creative communication industries more generally. There will be a number of opportunities for students, academics and professionals to network during the event.
