The Department of Film & Creative Writing is delighted to announce that Smoking Kills, a short film by Jacob Gates Orgill, has been nominated for a Learning on Screen Award in the Student Postgraduate category.

Jacob Gates Orgill

Jacob was a full-time student on the MA Film and Television: Research and Production from 2018-19. He produced Smoking Kills for the Guided Project in Editing and Production module and MA staff subsequently submitted this to the Learning on Screen Awards, which celebrate the best of educational film and television. This is the first time a student in the department has been nominated.

The awards ceremony will take place in London on 23 April, where the nominations will be showcased and winners announced. We are extremely proud of Jacob and his film, and are looking forward to cheering him on at the ceremony!
