As the department's Film Manager my work focuses on making sure all the students have access to the best filmmaking equipment and professional expertise we can offer, as well as managing these resources by keeping them aligned with the evolving digital media landscapes.

I also have a lead role in teaching the students how to use anything from cameras, microphones and lenses all the way to the end of the film process with technical film editing.  Year on year we are developing the Masters and Under Graduate program while exploring avenues to expand the courses reach into the professional film market. I take great pride in seeing the students develop during their time here at the university.

Qualifications

  • BA Hons – Video, University of Wolverhampton

Biography

Prior to working for the university I had spent 13 years working within the film industry.  I spent several of those years working as a freelance Filmmaker and progressed quickly to becoming a feature length documentary film editor.  I have been the editor on 2 international documentaries and on numerous film projects throughout my career.  I also spent 2 years editing for a corporate and commercial production company and have throughout my years in film taught filmmaking to a huge variety of people. I have worked on film projects in a multitude of countries including Bangladesh and South Korea.  I bring to the university a wealth of technical and industry knowledge, which I pass onto our students through practical teaching classes during the duration of their degrees.
