Candlelight has unique properties both in terms of its colour composition and its intensity. I am researching the effects of candlelight – with its unique visual impact – on a selection of plays which were performed by The King’s Men at the Blackfriars Playhouse. My research aims to throw fresh light (pardon the pun!) on these well-known texts.
