PhD title: Chinese Adaptations of Shakespeare (tentative)
Supervisor: Professor Michael Dobson
PhD English

I am exploring the convergences between Chinese and Western theatrical traditions, namely Shakespeare and Chinese opera. I also look at the contemporary adaptations of Shakespeare in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, both performed by professional theatre groups and by amateur groups, such as in the Chinese Universities Shakespeare Festival.
