Shakespeare in 100 objects

Several of our PhD students are working with Dr Tara Hamling and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) to blog about the cultural and social history of Shakespeare’s England.

Hosted by the SBT’s ‘Finding Shakespeare’ blog, ‘Shakespeare in 100 Objects’ looks at different items on display at the SBT houses or held in their collections as it explores the material objects that made up daily life in renaissance England. Items explored so far have included a bedstead in Anne Hathaway’s cottage, a Tudor rosary, a nightcap, and a ‘monks-head’ spoon. To read the blog posts (which relate to the PhD research our students are doing), go to ‘Shakespeare in 100 Objects’.
