Research Topic
What is the process of self-diagnosis of autism, as understood by those who have experienced it?
Research Summary
The thesis is using a mixed methods approach to explore the experiences of people who have self-identified as autistic. As well as the experiences of those who have been diagnosed for comparison. The exploration of identity is key, referring to the principles of communities in practice, considering how an identity is built and whether external validation is needed for an autistic identity.
