The University of Birmingham are delighted to present this event, part of the Economic and Social Research Council Festival of Social Science 2017.

This is an online ‘autistic perspectives’ event, hosted by the Autism Centre for Education and Research (ACER) with three autistic speakers talking about the topics of ‘ Including autistic stakeholders’; ‘Autism and Gender’ and ‘Building on the strengths of autistic people'. The field of autism studies is in its infancy in terms of considering genuine autistic participation in research, teaching, knowledge exchange and public engagement.

ESRC Festival 2017The event will therefore give participants valuable insight into different ways in which the inclusion of autistic participants can make a positive difference.
