There are a range of scholarships, bursaries and other support available for new and current students in the School of Education. 

Postgraduates may use the Postgraduate Funding Database to search for scholarships and bursaries whilst International students may may benefit from a number of country specific scholarships. General funding advice may also be found on the Student Funding Office webpages.

125th Anniversary PhD Scholarships for Black British Researchers 

These newly established 3.5-year scholarships aim to address underrepresentation and create opportunities for talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to excel in academia.

Postgraduate Access Scholarships 

Scholarships worth £4,000 for students from under-represented backgrounds beginning a Masters in 2024

  • The deadline for round one applications is 23:59 (UK time) on 31 March 2024.
  • The deadline for round two applications is 23:59 (UK time) on 31 July 2024.

Th postgraduate loans system for Masters degrees in the UK provides up to £12,167 (for UK and EU students with settled or pre-settled status) if the course starts on or after 1 August 2023 for taught and research Masters courses in all subject areas, including distance education. Loans of up to £28,673 are also available for eligible Doctoral students
