Paul is a Lecturer on the MA in Character Education – a three year distance learning degree. Paul joined the University as a Research Fellow in 2017. He has contributed to developing the practical application of character education theory and research as part of the Teacher Education project led by the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues. Within this, he has worked closely with school leaders and practitioners in the research and development of a continuing professional development programme for senior leaders. Paul previously worked as a teacher and member of the senior leadership team in a primary school. He assumed various teaching roles, including working with schools in his Local Education Authority as a Leading Teacher. 

Paul completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education in 2013 at the University of Birmingham. While working as a teacher in 2015, he also completed a Masters (MEd) in Teaching Studies.
