Michael is a Research Fellow, who joined the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues full time in May 2017. He has over 9 years' teaching experience in the primary sector, where he held roles such as Head of Curriculum and Phase Leader.

Michael previously worked for the Jubilee Centre in 2016 as a Teaching Fellow. During this period Michael was lead author on the Teaching Character Through the Primary Curriculum project, which looked at developing character in Key Stage 2 pupils as they move to secondary school. He also contributed towards the development of the Character Education Evaluation Handbook for Schools. Michael worked on the Teacher Education project, looking at character perspectives of pre-service teachers and designing and producing the Centre’s award winning CPD programme, Leading Character Education in Schools.

Michael received an MA Character Education with distinction in 2019 and began a part-time PhD in Education in 2020, examining how character education can influence positive relationships within schools. Michael aims to contribute to the development of character education within UK schools, an area he believes is vital to the development of young people today.
