Pathways into engineering

A degree from the Department of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering opens up a broad range of career options. Whilst some of our students choose to study for a Masters or a PhD after completing their undergraduate degree, the majority opt to utilise their skills in the Engineering, IT/Computer and Consultancy graduate job market with one of the many companies who are keen to recruit our students.

Pathways into engineering

Engineering UK reports show a definite shortage of skilled and qualified engineering technicians and graduates in the UK. However, secondary schoolteachers have stated that they don’t feel well equipped to provide their students with advice about careers in engineering. This is frustrating for them and for the children showing aptitude and interest particularly in STEM subjects.

This motivated us to produce the following high-quality films highlighting the routes/pathways 13 of our students took in their careers after graduation that have lead them to their current position and what has influenced them along the way.
