SUMMARY:The International Workshop on the Bees Algorithm and its Applications (BAA) 2023
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/202834
DESCRIPTION:The International Workshop on the Bees Algorithm and its Applications (BAA) is an interdisciplinary forum for researchers and engineers to share the latest research results, ideas and developments relating to the popular bees-inspired optimisation technique and its applications.\n
The third BAA, to be held online on 15 November 2023, will focus on applications of the Bees Algorithm to problems in all engineering disciplines.\n
We invite presentations in all areas of engineering that use the Bees Algorithm, including but not limited to:\n

Bioengineering
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Computer Science
Electrical Engineering
Environmental Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Informatics
Mechanical Engineering
Operations Research

Authors of accepted papers will present their work on 15 November 2023 and answer questions from attendees. Selected papers will be published in a book after the Workshop.\n
Workshop chair
 D T Pham, University of Birmingham, UK\n
Co-chair
N Hartono, University of Birmingham, UK and University of Pelita Harapan, Indonesia \n
Keynote speakers
Professor Xin-She Yang
Keynote talk: "Nature-Inspired Algorithms: Some Insights and Open Problems"\n
Xin-She Yang obtained his DPhil in Applied Mathematics from the University of Oxford. He then worked at Cambridge University and National Physical Laboratory (UK) as a Senior Research Scientist. Now he is Reader at Middlesex University London, and a co-Editor of the Springer Tracts in Nature-Inspired Computing. He is also an elected Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. He was the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) chair for the Task Force on Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management (2015 to 2020). He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed research papers with more than 82,000 citations, and he has been on the prestigious list of highly-cited researchers (Web of Sciences) for eight consecutive years (2016-2023).\n
Dr Laili Yuanjun
Keynote talk: "Configurable Bees Optimization For Disassembly Sequence Planning in Remanufacturing"\n
Yuanjun Laili is an Associate Professor of the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering of Beihang University. Her research interests include intelligent optimization theory and algorithms, modeling and simulation of complex system, robotic disassembly for remanufacturing and online incremental learning. She has managed 2 National Key Research and Development Program, 3 National Natural Science Foundation Project of China, and participated 2 National High-Tech Programs and 2 National Natural Science Foundation Project as a key researcher. She has been won the “Young Talent Lift Project” (2016) supported by China Association for Science and Technology and the “Young Simulation Scientist Award” (2017) from the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS). Currently, she is a Member of SCS and the Secretary of the Commitee of Intelligent Networked Things (CINT) in China Simulation Federation (CSF).\n \n \n
