Global Environmental Issues B


This module examines the conflict between the use of natural resources, growing environmental degradation and increasing population. It assesses the difficulties in distinguishing human impacts from natural environmental changes, and examines a number of specific environmental issues grouped within broad inter-disciplinary themes spanning key areas of research excellence in GEES including a selection of: Water, Environment and Society, Climate Change, Forests, Environmental Health, Urban Environments and Global Challenges.

By the end of the module you will be able to:

  • Understand the key drivers responsible for global environmental issues
  • Synthesise the literature to derive an objective assessment on the significance of selected environmental issues.
