Environmental Research Frontiers A

This module explores key areas of scientific investigation at the cutting-edge of the physical geography and environmental science disciplines. It provides undergraduate researchers with the opportunity to consider environmental questions of global and regional concern, the theories and concepts that underpin our knowledge base, and state-of-the-art scientific investigations within these areas.

It encourages undergraduate researchers to explore, apply and critically assess current understanding and consider the direction these disciplines will take in the future to address environmental challenges at varying spatial and temporal scales. This will provide the foundation for students to develop future specialisation and expertise within chosen areas of environmental research.

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • Begin to Rrecognise key research questions across the physical geography discipline.
  • Critical analyses environmental research theories and conceptualisations.
  • Implement specific scientific measurement methods and data assessment approaches.
  • Clearly and concisely present scientific research findings and concepts in defined fields in a manner appropriate for the given audience.
