My time at Birmingham

Daniel Fisher

"What I most enjoy about my course is the variety of topics and boundaries it crosses, it’s so broad you can never get bored."

The University offers a huge variety of opportunities in both the degree and within university life such as sport. It’s also a beautiful campus which is close to the centre. Overall it ticked all the boxes I was looking for from a university.

My first year here was exciting and full of new opportunities. I met loads of new people and generally loved every minute of it. What I most enjoy about my course is the variety of topics and boundaries it crosses, it’s so broad you can never get bored.

My favourite things about life on campus are the social aspects and sport and of course the degree. Birmingham has everything on your doorstep and it’s virtually impossible not to find something to do.

About the Student Ambassador Scheme

I joined as it means I can work whilst at uni which definitely helps with money, but also it meant I could encourage future students to make this decision which is a pretty big one. It also gives me valuable experience which future employers will be interested in.

My top tips for prospective Birmingham students

  1. Work hard with A-levels to get the best possible chance to get in
  2. Research the course itself so you know what to expect
  3. Don’t be nervous; have a relaxing summer and look forward to everything Birmingham has to offer
