RGS-IBG Postgraduate Mid-Term Conference 2013


Registration for this conference is open from 1st September 2012.

All delegates who wish to attend the conference should register by 1st February 2013.

Costs and accommodation

Delegate tickets cost £40 - This ticket covers the cost of attending and presenting at the conference, including an evening wine reception on Monday 25th, lunch and coffee breaks on Tuesday 26th, and a three-course conference dinner including wine.

Delegate tickets + Accommodation for two nights (i.e 25th March until morning of 27th March) costs £100 – In addition to the delegate ticket, this package includes accommodation at Lucas House which is located on the edge of Edgbaston campus and about 3-5 minutes walk to the conference venue. It is also within walking distance of the University's train station (with connections to Birmingham New Street). All bedrooms are en-suite with a telephone, television, hairdryer, 24-hour reception, disabled access, free on-site parking and free 20MBs Wi-Fi for all residents.

All delegates must pay by 1st February 2013 in order to attend.

Important - please note:

  • Accommodation is only available for the two nights. This is because we have managed to secure a special discounted offer for these rooms for the two nights.
  • There are 100 rooms available at this discounted price. These are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.  

Venue and travel

Lucas House double roomThe conference is taking place within the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham.

We will add more detailed information regarding how to find us closer to the conference. This will include a map of all the key locations.

Our central location means that we have good transport links. This includes our very own University train station which is a 5 minute train journey from Birmingham New Street. The Geography, Earth and Environmental Science building is a 1 minute walk from the station and the Lucas House conference accommodation is a 5 minute walk away.
