Birmingham Fellow publishes journal article

ICCS affiliate and Birmingham Fellow Dr Sara Fregonese has recently had an article published in the November 2017 edition of Political Geography.

Dr Sara Fregonese, a Birmingham Fellow in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Studies, analyses urban geopolitics in an article entitled Affective atmospheres, urban geopolitics and conflict (de)escalation in Beirut’, published in Political Geography  in November 2017. The article is based on fieldwork undertaken in Beirut in 2010, and focuses on the emotional impact of political decision-making and interventions during periods of urban conflict. The article combines literature on urban geopolitics and affective atmospheres to propose an approach that foregrounds the lived experiences of urban (de)escalation.
