School Enhancement Fund supports Student attendance at international training seminar

Bruno T. Luciano, The value and functions of parliaments in regional organisations (2016)

Thanks to funds from the School of Government’s Student Enhancement Fund I was able to participate in an Executive Training Seminar on the role and functions parliaments in regional organisations at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence.

Participating in this seminar was a great experience and a great asset to my academic development. The training provided during these three days of event assisted me to develop my PhD research and helped me to get in touch with several practitioners and academics involved with regional parliaments in Latin America and Africa. I attended the Executive Training Seminar on parliaments in regional organisations because I am convinced that it was the ideal place for me to follow and deepen my research interests in this area. Not only was this event organised and composed by parliamentarians, researchers, professors and officials highly qualified and specialised in regional parliaments in Latin America and Africa, but it also presented a perspective of an environment of academic and professional exchange on regional background among participants. The experience provided by this Training Seminar was very significant to my academic development in this area and especially to my PhD Thesis which deals directly with regional parliaments in Latin America, Africa and Europe. The knowledge and network develop through a training formation in Florence provided me skills and contacts which will be very useful for my PhD research project. Therefore, I really enjoyed this Executive Seminar and very much appreciated the support from the School of Government’s Student Enhancement Fund.
