Using the case study of Zambia, she is examining the extent to which African governments are able to secure greater room-for- manoeuvre in aid negotiations with Northern donors as a result of the growth of other sources of finance. Research Interests Nicola’s research interests lie in the international politics of aid and international development. She is particularly interested in the agency of Southern actors, and the impacts of ‘rising’ powers on international development.
