Research

Mission

The mission of the Institute is to develop and conduct research and teaching programmes in occupational and environmental medicine, epidemiology, ergonomics, toxicology, hygiene, and other related disciplines in order to prevent health hazards in the workplace and in the common environment with an aim to create healthy working environments.

Research policy

The senior staff conduct their research projects independently and jointly with other staff members and external co-workers. The junior staff and doctoral and master students are encouraged to seek the support and advice of the senior staff for their studies and research career.

The staff has international collaboration with scientists in Norway, Finland, United States, Taiwan, China, Chile and Brazil amongst others.
